With its V14 latest update, the Waves StudioRack plug-in chainer is now able to host VST3 plug-ins by any brand, allowing chains containing both Waves plug-ins and other VST3 plug-ins to be can created, saved and loaded.

VST3 plug-ins by other manufacturers work within Waves StudioRack as Waves plug-ins – users can assign all plug-ins to macros for quick control of multiple plug-in parameters simultaneously. Any plug-in, Waves or non-Waves, can be used as a multiband tool using StudioRack’s multiband splits. And instant parallel chain splits can be made using any Waves plug-ins as well as other VST3 plug-ins.

StudioRack allows complete chains of up to eight plug-ins to be used from one DAW insert and saved for instant recall. Multiple parameters from different plug-ins can be saved as a chain to StudioRack’s macro controls – essentially enabling building of ‘custom plug-ins’. Parallel processing racks supports splitting audio from any point in any chain, into parallel mono, stereo and M/S racks without having to create complex routings in a DAW. StudioRack’s multiband split racks allow any StudioRack-compatible plug-in (by Waves or any other brand) to be used as a multiband processor, with detailed control over crossover points.

StudioRack allows saving of entire chains with their internal routings to be opened instantly in any DAW, making collaborations between producers and mixers who use a different DAWs. The ability to host VST3 plug-ins also means VST3 plug-ins can be used freely in non-VST3 DAWs like Logic or Pro Tools. Plug-in search is easy and complemented by more than 170 presets for complete plug-in chains.
