Audiofocus has extended its touring and installation line-up with the launch of the passive 118SG and active 118SGa subwoofers, purpose designed for deployment in ground stacked systems and fully compatible with the company’s Eliz 210 line array and ARRoCC 210 constant curvature systems.
The passive 118SG is a variant of the existing 118S single 18-inch subwoofer series, with rigging hardware pared back to achieve a cleaner appearance, lower price point and reduced weight. Omni and cardioid presets for 118SG are offered for both Audiofocus A-series amplifiers and Powersoft Armonia. The active 118SGa features an integral Audiofocus A4M SCiO amplifier module, allowing it to be remotely monitored and controlled via the company’s SCiO web application.
Both 118SG and 118SGa benefit from Tetracoil double voice coil technology for additional power, precision control, improved impulse response and enhanced transient handling. The loudspeakers achieve a frequency response of 30Hz to 80Hz and a peak SPL of 135dB.
‘Our decision to create 118SG and 118SGa was guided by the experiences of our Eliz and ARRoCC customers, who rarely need to fly more than a few of their subwoofers,’ says Audiofocus CEO and founder, Ann Leroy. ‘For the venues and rental companies relying on our systems every day, the size and weight savings achieved by tailoring the product for ground stacking translate to significant advantages in handling, transport, cost, and overall efficiency.’
The new subwoofers are available now, made to order at the Audiofocus factory in Belgium.
