HK Audio has introduced the Elements Mk2 modular column array for professional sound reinforcement applications, combines controlled sound distribution with long throw, flexible scalability and an integrated DSP platform.
The HK Audio Elements Mk2 is suited to use in a wide range of applications from speech reinforcement, conferences and corporate events to live music, DJ sets, and demanding event sound. Thanks to its modular design, the system can be adapted to meet the needs of different room sizes and requirements.
Mk2 operates on the principle of a line array and offers a 90° horizontal dispersion. A newly developed phase plug sound guide ensures uniform sound coverage across the entire audience area and enables precise control of sound dispersion. The result is a ‘homogeneous listening experience with reduced volume fluctuations and fewer disruptive dead spots’. At the same time, the system delivers punchy HF, high peak levels and headroom able to accommodate a wide variety of sound reinforcement situations.
With Elements Mk2, top modules, spacers and subwoofers are securely and seamlessly connected in a single step. The HK Audio SnapLock system enables quick, tool-free set-up and is designed to meet the demands of everyday professional rental operations.
Signal transmission occurs via robust contact surfaces. This makes the connection particularly resistant to wear, dirt, and mechanical stress. Visible cables are a thing of the past in the assembled system, the discreet, professional design blends unobtrusively into a wide variety of event environments.
The fully modular system can be operated with up to three top units and two subwoofers. The connected top units are automatically detected, so the DSP platform loads the appropriate filter for the required midrange compensation. Manual adjustment is therefore not necessary.
Two subwoofer variants are available for low-frequency reproduction. HK Audio’s Elements Mk2 110 Sub A is a compact solution for corporate events as well as speech and background music applications, while Elements Mk2 115 Sub A is a powerful subwoofer with high headroom and an extended low-frequency range for music and event applications Additionally, the Linear 5 Mk2 115 Sub A can be integrated into the system. For more low-end response or cardioid set-ups, the Elements Mk2 115 Sub A and the Linear 5 Mk2 115 Sub A can be combined.
Elements Mk2’s integrated DSP platform offers Flat, Contour, Voice and Remote presets. While Flat, Contour and Voice are optimised for typical application scenarios, the Remote preset allows for custom configurations. DSP Control software provides extensive control and configuration options. Ethernet enables both system control and Milan AVB Audio streaming via a single network cable.
Through their shared DSP platform, the HK Audio Elements Mk2, Linear 5 Mk2, and Linear 9 can be operated and managed on the same network. The DSP-Out also allows for full control of additional active speakers that lack their own DSP or network capabilities, for example, for delay lines. The input signal can be processed and routed independently of the Elements Mk2’s settings.
