HK Audio claims to be taking ‘sound quality, versatility and design to a new level’ with the launch of the Polar Mk2 series of column PA systems.
Developed for DJs, musicians, event managers and business users, Polar Mk2 offers all-in-one option for stage, event and presentation sound reinforcement applications.
Available in two versions – Polar 10 Mk2 and Polar 12 Mk2 – the system can be individually adapted to users’ needs with more punch in the bass range, if needed as Polar systems can be expanded with additional subwoofers from the HK Audio Sonar series (Sonar 115 Sub D). The newly developed HK Audio Connector offers mechanically secure connection between the subwoofer and column without the use of external cables.
The low-resonance column made of high-quality aluminium contains six 3-inch neodymium midrange drivers and a 1-inch tweeter with a constant directivity horn. The Polar Mk2 achieves exceptionally wide 120° dispersion and offers distortion-free reproduction for speech and music in any room size. The subwoofer housed in a robust wooden enclosure without any additional filters.
The integrated mixer offers connection options in the shape of with two mic/line channels with gain control, a high-impedance instrument input (Hi-Z) and an Aux/Bluetooth channel. Switchable phantom power supports the use of condenser microphones.
Three selectable sound modes – Music, Voice, DJ – and five storable user presets allow adaptation to different rooms and applications. In addition, a master EQ, system delay and limiter allow furtheround tailoring.
Bluetooth 5.0 with True Wireless Stereo enable music streaming wirelessly in the high quality. Two Polar Mk2 systems can be paired wirelessly to deliver true stereo sound – without the need for additional cables or mixing consoles. An integrated USB-C charging port keeps smartphones, tablets or wireless microphone systems reliably powered even during long events.
A padded carrying bag for the column elements and a robust protective cover for the subwoofer ensure that the Polar Mk2 is well protected on the road.
