Innosonix has expanded its Micro Maxx line with the addition of the µMA04/M four-channel amplifier ‘designed for modern audio installations that demand flexibility, performance, and efficiency’.
Positioned as a mains-powered counterpart to the PoE-based µMA04/POE, the µMA04/M brings the company’s DSP platform into a more traditional deployment model, without sacrificing capability or control. Despite its small footprint, the µMA04/M delivers 120W/channel at both 4Ω and 8Ω, with the ability to bridge channels for 240W at 8Ω.
Prioritising installation efficiency, an optional rackmount kit allows integrators to install up to three units in a single rack space, providing up to 12 channels in 1U.
At the core of the µMA04/M is Innosonix’s established DSP engine, bringing the full feature set of the Maxx Series to a compact device. Key capabilities include: 32-point EQ, FIR filtering per output, independent limiting, auto standby mode and built-in analyser tools. These features allow precise control over audio performance while reducing the need for external processing hardware.
Rather than locking users into a single protocol, the µMA04/M allows integrators to select their preferred AoIP solution. The unit supports Dante by default, with alternative protocols available on request. This approach simplifies system design and ensures compatibility across a wide range of networked audio environments.
Unlike its PoE sibling, the µMA04/M uses a mains-powered architecture, offering practical advantages that include voiding the need for PoE switches or power budgeting, consistent output without network limitations, easier integration into existing A/V racks and electrical systems, and simplified troubleshooting by separating power and network infrastructure.
The amplifier integrates with Innosonix’s Maxx Remote platform, enabling real-time system monitoring, remote configuration and troubleshooting and centralised control across multiple devices. Additional diagnostic tools such as loudspeaker detection, impedance measurement, and phase analysis help streamline installation and maintenance, especially in large-scale deployments.
The µMA04/M is engineered for 24/7 operation, making it suitable for mission-critical environments where stability is essential. Its design emphasises consistent power delivery, long-term reliability, and reduced downtime through proactive system monitoring.
For customers in the UK, 2B Heard is the exclusive distributor for Innosonix products, including the µMA04/M.
