Apex has announced a ‘comprehensive firmware and software refresh’ for its CloudPower installation range. Version 2.0 firmware incorporates new and enhanced features, alongside a comprehensive restructuring of code to achieve speed and performance improvements.
Admin users can now configure multiple user profiles with tailored access rights. The number of separate groups available across a CloudPower network has been increased from six to 36 to enable more sophisticated zoning and system management. Loudspeaker preset functionality has also been upgraded with the facility to incorporate multiple amplifier channels in a single preset, permitting the settings for a multi-driver loudspeaker to be stored and recalled together.
CloudPower’s Standby mode has been remodelled to achieve low power consumption while enabling a faster 3s start-up time. Version 2.0 firmware also unlocks the Bluetooth feature for ACW series remote controllers on a CloudPower network, allowing users to stream audio from their devices.
‘Perhaps the biggest changes in v2.0 are the things that you can’t see,’ says Apex Product Director, Martin Andersson. ‘CloudPower veterans will immediately notice that navigation and set-up feel quicker and more intuitive. That’s because we’ve restructured and rationalised every aspect of the code to optimise performance.
‘We have also ticked almost every major feature request off the “most wanted” list. Alongside the headline improvements there are many smaller tweaks like changes to the way the rotary encoder responds or the option to set input sensitivity, all of which add up to a smoother overall experience.’
CloudPower firmware v2.0 will be made available for general download from the Apex website.
