Belgian amplifier manufacturer Apex has released a major update for its CloudPower installation range – v1.3.4 firmware brings new and refined features to all four channel CloudPower amplifier models and the 16-channel CP716D, plus upgrades to Apex’s IntelliCloud control software.
Parameters can now be copied and pasted between amplifier channels, speeding up amplifier set-up and loudspeaker preset creation. CloudPower’s front panel rotary encoder can also now be locked from the IntelliCloud WebUI, preventing unwanted hands-on access. Version 1.3.4 also adds a Locate function, helping integrators and users to easily match up an amplifier being controlled in IntelliCloud with the corresponding physical unit in a rack full of CloudPowers.
The Relay, GPI (General Purpose Input) and Standby connectors on CloudPower’s rear panel are all enabled in the new firmware, permitting fault indication and muting of all channels to fulfil EN54 VACIE fire alarm requirements, and allowing amplifiers to be placed in an energy-saving standby mode via IntelliCloud or UDP command.
‘We have a mature, stable amplifier platform with many loyal users, so for this release our priority was to deliver some of their most-wanted features that will save integrators time and remove barriers preventing them from specifying CloudPower in a wider range of applications,’ says Apex Product Director, Martin Andersson. ‘At the same time, we took the opportunity to make some smaller workflow enhancements like allowing delay times to be entered in meters or milliseconds, and clearer highlighting of currently selected channels, which add up to a faster, smoother experience for the end-user.’
