Martin Audio is to add the four-channel iKon iK41 power amplifier to its existing iKon series.
The iKon iK41 is an advanced power amplifier that combines high power density with DSP and network control. The model is designed a dedicated controller amplifier for WPM optimised line arrays, Torus 8 constant curvature loudspeakers, as well as for selected other Martin Audio loudspeakers.
The class-D design offers four channels power in 2U-high rack unit, and is able to deliver up to 6kW oftotal power output, depending on load impedance, and incorporates high-performance 96kHz DSP on all inputs and outputs (48kHz on outputs when implementing FIR filters).
The iK41 employs comprehensive protection functions to maintain safe operating conditions of both the amplifier and the loudspeakers driven – including a sophisticated loudspeaker limiter suite which incorporates peak, RMS and excursion limiting, as well as multiband limiting for passive two-way systems. Its switch mode power supply is combined with global mains operation, from 85V to 240V, that is auto-sensing.
Along with an intuitive, user-friendly, front panel interface, the iKon iK41 carries analogue, AES3 and Dante digital audio network inputs, and supports Ethernet network for system operation, control and monitoring via Martin Audio VU-Net software.
‘The success of iKon amplifiers has been undeniable and with this less expensive model being introduced it will allow for more efficient installations of WPM, Torus 8 and FlexPoint systems,’ says Martin Audio MD, Dom Harter. ‘While we expect rental partners to continue their inventory of iK42, we also expect that some will see the benefit of holding additional iK41 inventory for their smaller events.’
