Orbital Sound has announced the first sales of the new DanteSW-1 Dante switch to leading Paris based corporate and event supplier Blackout SA.
With Dante networks increasingly being used as the backbone for many theatre and corporate events sound systems where computer based playback systems are used, the DanteSW-1 allows easy and seamless switching between dual-redundant Dante sources at the push of a single button. The unit can also be integrated with the Nemesis Audio CCS-2 Computer Control Switch, enabling all functions of the playback systems to be switched simultaneously, with optional fully automatic audio playback fault detection and switching due to be added shortly.
The standard unit is capable of switching between two 32-channel sources, with expansion cards available to expand switching to between two 96-channel sources.
‘Our decision to invest in the DanteSW-1 was borne out of the need to have a fully redundant Dante network system for our corporate events work and this is the final piece of the jigsaw to achieve that,’ says Dominic Peissel of Blackout Paris. ‘Nemesis Audio products are the best at achieving these complex tasks and it’s no surprise to me that they’re the first to achieve this for the Dante side of things.’
