Plasa Focus has added two European stops to its 2014 calendar – Brussels in November and Glasgow in December.

The regional show format was launched in Leeds in 2009, and has expanded into various North American cities. Now Plasa Focus: Brussels is scheduled for the Square Meeting Centre on 3-4 November, and Plasa Focus: Glasgow for the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC) on 2-3 December – the first show of its kind in Scotland for five years.

The recently developed Square Meeting Centre is situated in the renovated Palais des Congrès, an area known for its hotels, bars and restaurants, and is also the site of the city’s major cultural attractions. It is a few minutes walk from Brussels Central Station, and less than 20 minutes from the airport. It also has 660 car parking spaces.

The show is expected to attract visitors from across the Benelux region, has already received over 70 exhibitor applications.

The SECC is Scotland’s premier national venue for public events, concerts and conferences. Situated west of the city centre, it is accessible by plane, car and train. A journey from Glasgow Prestwick Airport will take about 45 minutes, while Glasgow International Airport is only 15 minutes drive away.

‘Since the foundation and subsequent success of the first Focus event in Leeds, there have been requests for Plasa to extend this model further throughout the UK and Europe,’ says Plasa Director of Events, Christopher Toulmin.

‘Both events will continue to bring new regional audiences everything our existing visitors have come to expect from Plasa Focus – good representation from key industry brands; educational opportunities through our Professional Development Programme; and the time to network with industry colleagues. Exhibitors can look forward to well-run events, high-quality visitors with decision-making powers, and cost-effective solutions with an extremely attractive return on both investment and business objectives.’

The new shows will offer the same elements as previous events, with manufacturers, dealers, rental houses and production companies in attendance, and a programme of seminars, product demonstrations and training. Details of the Professional Development Programmes and after-hours activities will be announced in coming months.
