Veteran Netherlands rental firm Audio van Hooidonk has taken delivery of a further Outline Doppia II 9075 + DBS 18-2 set-up.
‘When I heard this FOH set for the first time, I could not believe that such small lightweight cabinets were able to produce such an SPL without any compromise in headroom and fidelity,’ company owner Anton van Hooidonk explains. ‘Now, having worked for a year with our first Outline set-up, we wanted all our gigs to experience this incredible system, so a second system was ordered.’
The order follows an Outline demo at the HQ of The Audio Specialists (Outline distributor for Benelux and Germany), and comprises four Doppia II 9075 and four DBS 18-2 subwoofer systems, driven by Outline’s T-Series amps with signal processing from an Outline Genius 24. The system has volume of 0.25m3, weighs 55kg and has a peak SPL of 139dB @ 1m with a frequency response of 61Hz to 19.7kHz.
Integral to the DBS 18-2 design is the Decoupled Baffle Subwoofer assembly, which contributes to the structural integrity of the entire cabinet, as well as reducing resonance and air turbulence noise from the reflex ports (143dB SPL peak at 1m).
‘The market demand for conventional FOH point source systems is still very high here, but a system has to be exceptionally good,’ says Axel Nagtegaal, owner of The Audio Specialists. ‘It also needs to be flexible in set-up yet lightweight as well. Outline does just that, which has resulted in the huge success since we started distribution at the end of 2011. We wish Anton and his crew a lot of satisfaction with their latest investment.’
