Located in Domburg, in the Netherlands, Pulse Audio Video recently completed a significant audio upgrade at the stylish Hotel De Zeevaartschool in Vlissingen on the country’s southwest coast.
Located on Vlissingen’s promenade, the beachfront Hotel De Zeevaartschool is housed in a former nautical college, offering guests rooms with sea views, city views or cosy Sailors’ Rooms reminiscent of a sleeping quarters onboard. As part of the audio transformation, the hotel required a solution that could deliver both background music in its dining areas and provide for events including parties and other gatherings.
The Optimal Audio system installed by Pulse AV features multiple zones equipped with the company’s Cuboid 8 two-way, full-range 8-inch loudspeakers, complemented by low-profile Sub 10 subwoofers. The compact nature of the Sub 10 means that they can be discreetly integrated into seating areas. For extra power during parties and other events, the Cuboid 8 speakers can be enhanced with a higher-powered Sub 15 subwoofer. Other areas of the hotel are also served by Cuboid 5TX 100V transformer-equipped loudspeakers.
At the heart of the installation is a Zone 8 processor, which controls each output of the Optimal Audio AMP series amplifiers powering the Cuboid and Subs. The Zone 8 offers a full suite of audio controls for up to eight zones, with flexible signal routing, programmable presets and WebApp interface for easy system configuration.
The result is an extremely user-friendly solution that allows the hotel’s non-professional A/V staff to manage presets, microphone inputs and zone volume using a tablet or smartphone.
