Windy City TV puts SSL console in control

WLS TV Chicago has refurbished its TV1 HD production control room, adding a Solid State Logic C100 HDS Digital Broadcast Console at its centre.

WLS engineering staff‘We upgraded our TV1 HD control room with new equipment and needed an audio console that would work for live production,’ says Kal Hassan, Vice President and Director of Engineering for WLS TV. ‘The C100 HDS offered the specific features we needed at the right price/performance ratio for this particular installation.’

The ABC-owned television station has already put the revitalised room into service on its new programme, Windy City Live. Airing on weekdays, this is a fast-paced talk show covering ‘everything Chicago’. The console was specified to include the Dialogue Automix option to streamline the production of panel-type presentations and the 5.1 Upmix option to create 5.1 versions of stereo content segments for the live-to-air programme.
