Taking the spirit and elegance of chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster Harlem and brings its magic to Miami, the Red Rooster Overtown occupies the site of of a pool hall owned by the late nightlife promoter Clyde Killens, To help make the combination of music and dining a memorable experience, loudspeakers from DAS Audio are used throughout the venue.

Miami-based design/build firm Electronic Designs was contracted to handle the installation of the various systems, which includes models from the DAS Quantum, Factor-8, Artec and Ceiling series loudspeakers.

Red Rooster Overtown‘This installation encompasses a total of six zones throughout the restaurant, including the main floor and the upstairs,’ explains Electronic Designs President, Jon Graney. ‘Regardless of where one might be at any given time, it was of paramount importance that the loudspeakers we selected were effective for both announcements and music reproduction. Music plays a vital role as part of the Red Rooster Overtown’s persona, which includes jazz and R&B music styles.’

The primary focus of the venue is on main bar and the dining areas. For these spaces, Graney placed a combination of DAS Quantum Q-43-T, augmented by Q-10 subwoofers to provide full sound from a compact footprint. For the main dining area, DAS Q-23-T boxes are used in conjunction with the Q-10 subwoofers.

Addressing the outdoor patio dining area are further DAS Q-23-T loudspeakers and Q-10 subs, while for the side outdoor dining and games area, Graney chose DAS Audio’s Factor-8, loudspeakers.

In the upstairs area, the Electronic Designs team used a combination of DAS Artec-306 enclosures, mated with Quantum Q-10 subwoofers. And to ensure patrons never miss a beat, the restrooms are furnished with DAS CL-6 ceiling loudspeakers.

‘DAS Audio provides world-class tech support, an excellent in-stock inventory, as well as first rate design services,’ Graney offers. ‘Headed up by John Fiorito, the company makes an excellent business partner. I’m pleased to report that our client is equally enthusiastic about the installation and the various loudspeakers we installed.

‘Using a combination of live music and DJ services, this combination of loudspeakers makes an impressive sonic statement,’ says owner/operator, Derek Fleming. ‘We couldn’t be happier with the way everything turned out.’
