Digigram has expanded its Iqoya family of hardware and software audio-over-IP solutions in collaboration with German company Media Broadcast, making units designed for its ATM-based managed contribution network generally available.

Iqoya *Link/ICIqoya *Link/IC, a single-unit rack mount codec aimed at intercom applications, coordination circuits and voice commentary, and live video contributions. It is a trimmed down version of the Iqoya *Link flagship codec, focusing on Intercom features. Typically, the Iqoya *Link/IC is a dual channel full-duplex IP audio device offering G711 and G722 audio codecs and a back-to-back latency of under 30ms. Management of the equipment is offered via user-friendly HTML pages or SNMP.

Media Broadcast – part of the TDF group – will be the launch partner for the new equipment, following a major commercial and technological partnership with TDF Group, one of the leading operators of shared facilities and terrestrial networks in Europe. The TDF Group has extensively tested and eventually selected Digigram’s Iqoya and PYKO IP transport solutions as the basis for its own Audio-over -IP services offering.

According to TDF’ Head End Lead Buyer, Jean-Louis Degoul, ‘Our solutions are based first and foremost on quality. That means 100 per cent reliability combined with the highest possible audio quality. Digigram’s range of IP transport products offer extremely low latency, excellent audio transport stability and numerous redundancy options, thereby fulfilling our most stringent criteria for developing high quality, reliable audio-over-IP solutions that we can present to our clients with complete confidence.’

Christelle Nay, Digigram Sales Account Manager adds: ‘The “TDF tested” result was a milestone we were eager to reach, not only for our European customers but also for the increasing number of ‘IP-minded’ broadcasters looking for truly 24/7 reliable solutions.’

With more than 10,000 locations in Europe, TDF will be able to offer its customers and end-users a suitable and reliable service based on Digigram codecs such as the new Iqoya *Link/IC, to accompany them in the shift to Audio-over-IP networks.
