Previously at Orbital Sound for more than 15 years, the last four of which he was Technical Director, Sharratt handled the design and installation of the communications infrastructure for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations and the first UK use of Tetra mobile communications at a public event (the Isle of Wight festival) for non-emergency services.

His role at Sennheiser UK is focused on customer service from an array of the company’s support functions. ‘One of my immediate aims is restructuring the workshops in our servicing department to make turnaround times as quick as possible,’ he says. ‘We are setting ourselves a challenging target, but it’s one I know we can hit – and subsequently improve on – with the quality of staff we have.’

He will also be working with Sennheiser’s artist relations team on-site at festivals and other high-profile events to provide support, as well as being heavily involved in advising users on the changeover to Channel 38. In the medium term, he is heading up the team looking at the company’s customer support strategy for the 2012 London Olympics.

‘Sennheiser is highly customer-focused and, with the frequency change at the forefront of everyone’s minds, we are pulling out all the stops to do what we can to make the transition as smooth as possible,’ he adds. ‘And with the London Olympics less than two years away, we also need to do a great deal of planning for that, as well as ensuring that all our customer support functions continue to improve.’
