US-based audio industry advice, design, business development and project management business, RH Consulting, has added two members to its team – Stuart Gillan and Henny Schuett.

Stuart GillanGillan has more than years’ experience in live touring, location music recording, location TV/film and broadcast postproduction. He will focus on system design, while Schuett, a native German speaker, joins the company on a part-time basis to handle projects in the German market.

Since 1997, Gillan has moved progressively towards consulting and audio design work, focusing exclusively on those activities for the last few years. His past experience in outside broadcast, audio engineering and sound recording combines an understanding of operational requirements and logistics with technical knowledge to offer project solutions that are based on real world concepts and not purely on theoretical learning.

Gillan is a qualified Prince2 Practitioner project manager. Prince2 is a globally recognised and certified project management technique, widely used in the construction sector and even by the BBC. It is a scalable and versatile technique which can be applied to anything from producing a system design to building a concert hall and from writing a technical report to designing a nuclear submarine - the same principles apply in each case. As such, apart from offering professional project management, this means he can comfortably work in any existing project environment.

Gillan is also a founding committee member for the Audio Engineering Society Scottish Branch and he is a full member of the Institute of Acoustics.

‘It has become clear in our discussions over the last three years or so that Roland [Hemming] and I share many areas of interest and experience,’ Gillan says. ‘We share a desire to offer clients the best advice available tailored to their needs and expectations. However we also have areas of different, complementary skills and abilities.

‘I’m looking forward to adding my experience to the existing design and consulting service and offering a more complete range of skills to RH Consulting projects to enhance client benefits still further. The end result should be something that is greater than the sum of its parts.’
