RTS Intercom Systems has added experienced broadcast engineer Jimmy Parkin to its UK team as Intercom System Engineer.
Parkin joins RTS following a career working for leading broadcasters such as Sky and CBS News as well as production companies including the UK arm of NEP. He joins the company with extensive experience of working with RTS intercom systems and a deep knowledge of the products.
‘We are delighted to welcome someone of Jimmy’s caliber to our UK team,’ says RTS Intercom Systems EMEA Sales Director, Martin Liermann. ‘He has been on the frontline of the broadcast industry for a number of years with both broadcasters and production companies, and he will bring an understanding of the real world challenges our customers face every day.’
‘I felt that this was the right time for me to make the switch to the manufacturer-side of the industry, and RTS was the perfect fit,’ Parkin adds. ‘I’ve experienced the advantages that RTS bring to users at various places throughout my career, and I’m excited to share that knowledge with our users in the UK.’
Parkin takes over from Geoff Rogers, who has been a well-known and highly respected part of RTS and the wider broadcast industry for more than two decades. He now takes retirement after a distinguished career. ‘Geoff has been instrumental to the success of RTS in the UK,’ Liermann says. ‘He has been a familiar face and trusted voice to many and will certainly be missed. We wish him all the best for his retirement.’
