Bel Digital BM-A1-64DanteMonitoring specialist Bel Digital has announced the world’s first Dante audio monitor, the BM-A1-64Dante for the broadcast, live sound, recording and fixed installation markets.

Housed in a rugged 1U-high rack chassis, the BM-A1-64Dante features a redundant power supply as standard and offers full audio redundancy over a Gigabit Ethernet network. Designed to provide a simple and effective way of monitoring audio in Dante networks, the unit provides a visual indication of signal strength on all 64 selected Dante channels. Each individual channel can also be audibly monitored, or the operator can combine up to 16 channels to provide a unique stereo monitor mix.

An onboard matrix enables access to 512 audio sources using Dante Controller software, with the audio present at the front panel mounted speakers also available via balanced analogue (on two XLRs) and AES/EBU (1on a single XLR) outputs.

In addition, Audinate has announced that Dante is to be compliant with AES67, which specifies interoperability with other compliant systems, such as Ravenna, QSC’s Q-Lan and Telos Systems’ Livewire.
