Shure has announced Wavetool 4, the latest evolution of its professional audio monitoring and listening software.
Designed for theatre, live sound, broadcast and houses of worship, Wavetool 4 enables teams to monitor, replay and verify live audio across an entire system in real time. By combining direct listening, instant replay and team collaboration, Wavetool 4 aims to give engineers greater confidence to troubleshoot issues faster and keep productions running smoothly.
Wavetool 4 builds on the platform’s listening-first foundation with new capabilities that expand visibility across complex productions. New features include full-system Global Instant Replay with up to 30 minutes of history, expanded channel capacity, a customisable user interface, and enhanced collaboration tools that give teams the context to investigate unexpected events, coordinate responses, and maintain awareness throughout every production.

- A fully scalable interface that lets engineers zoom, resize, and prioritize channels to match productions of any size.
- Intelligent mic issue detection identifies problems the moment they occur while filtering out expected production sounds, reducing false alarms and minimising unnecessary alerts.
- A redesigned communication experience with chat, image sharing, reactions, and voice notes built directly into the monitoring workflow.
- Flexible licensing options, including subscription and perpetual licenses, to support touring, project-based, and permanent installations, all managed in ShureCloud.
The software also expands access to Wavetool through subscription licensing managed via ShureCloud, lowering barriers for independent engineers and new users while continuing to support long-term installations with perpetual licenses.
