US company Dangerous Music has launched the BAX EQ Plugin.
The original BAX EQ hardware unit has shaped mixes and masters with ‘the kind of weight, air, dimension and musical ease that helps a record feel finished without sounding heavily processed’.
Created with direct involvement from mastering designer Chris Muth and the Dangerous Music team, it was developed, measured and compared against production BAX EQ hardware before receiving final approval. It is the only BAX EQ Plugin certified by Dangerous Music.
Advances in plug-in processing, sampling, and capture allowed the team to approach the project with a fresh start, including capture through Dangerous Music’s own Convert-AD+ and Convert-2 mastering-grade converters. The plug-in also includes Classic, Expanded, and Dual Mono views for flexible modern workflows.
Developed together with Dangerous Music Digital and Acustica Audio, in collaboration with Luca Pretolesi of Studio DMI, the plug-in is available now at US$179 in VST3, AAX and AU formats for macOS and Windows.
