Cedar Audio has added Blade, a Hyper-Resolution Analyser EQ, to its Icons range of creative software plug-ins, leveraging Spectral Analysis and a powerful IIR EQ to solve frequency problems ‘with surgical accuracy’.
This integration will zoom further into the frequency spectrum than a normal analyser, from the full range down to 20Hz wide at any frequency, revealing narrow resonances, tonal artefacts and problem frequencies that, at low and mid frequencies, go unseen in traditional analyser views. With Qs of up to 100, Blade enables surgical EQ adjustments, helping you to target specific frequencies while leaving surrounding audio untouched.
The unique spectrum analyser in Blade is not an FFT analyser as found in many other audio workstations and plug-ins. These suffer from poor resolution (which is especially limiting at low frequencies) and are not suitable for precise audio analysis. The Blade analyser is more like those found in dedicated signal analysers and electronic design laboratories, and it offers a maximum resolution of 0.02Hz at any frequency. This allows unwanted tones to be identified with almost unparalleled accuracy.
Blade is suited to the removal of constant tones, as well as for brick wall filtering, and offers a go-to solution to compensate for inappropriate applications of analogue EQ in audio mastering, audio restoration and forensic applications.
