Tascam has announced that its Sonicview Digital Recording and Mixing Consoles are now fully compatible with the Mixing Station app, giving users access to remote control capabilities. This integration expands the functionality of Sonicview consoles in live sound, houses of worship, and many other demanding environments.
With Mixing Station app support, both performers and engineers can wirelessly control their monitor mixes using smartphones or tablets. With this hands-on-control, thay benefit from faster soundchecks, enhanced efficiency while performing, and a more streamlined experience for everyone involved on stage or behind the mixing desk.
Using the Ember+ protocol introduced in Sonicview firmware v2.2, the consoles can support multiple simultaneous Mixing Station instances, offering scalable control options for small to mid-sized productions. Users can easily adjust parameters including levels, EQ and aux sends from their own devices. Set-up is straightforward, requiring only a network connection to the console with no additional hardware needed.
‘Our goal with Sonicview, is to continually evolve its capabilities based on used feedback and real-world needs,’ says Product Specialist, Sean Daily. ‘With the increasing demand for individual monitor mix control, Mixing Station support is a direct response to that. We’re excited to deliver a solution that enhances both workflow and the overall user experience.’
Mixing Station app compatibility is available now as part of the latest Sonicview firmware update (v2.2.3 or later). The app itself is available for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux platforms.
