Harrison Audio has released an updated version of Mixbus 10, featuring Dolby Atmos native rendering, integrated SSL EQ and further feature enhancements. According to its manufacturer, ‘Mixbus 10 is a DAW with a warm analogue heart, designed by artists and audio engineers, for artists and audio engineers.’
Designed around Harrison’s True Analog Mix Engine (TAME), Mixbus 10 features a suite of production, editing, mixing and performance tools including the 4-band Harrison 32C Console EQ, with HP/LF filters, and compressors and limiters. The ‘knob-per-function’ operation allows intuitive and tactile mixing. Mixbus 10 also provides Harrison’s tape saturation, bus compression and tone control on every bus.
Among new features are Dolby Atmos native rendering, including object-based panning on each channel and 7.1.4 monitoring on loudspeakers or binaural on headphones. No additional software is needed to create immersive mixes for streaming services such as Tidal, Amazon Music and Apple Music.
Developed in collaboration with Solid State Logic, Mixbus 10 Pro includes the SSL 9000J 4-band EQ, allowing every channel can be switched between SSL and Harrison EQ.
As part of the Mixbus 10 update, the Plus and Pro tiers include the full suite of Harrison’s XT Plug-ins for Mixbus. The XT range features 19 premium plug-ins, including compressors, EQs, FX, and correctional tools. Formerly only available on Harrison’s top-tier DAW (Mixbus32C), Mixbus Plus and Mixbus Pro provide a dedicated expander/gate module on every input channel.
A frequently requested feature, all tiers of Mixbus 10 now provide Pre/post fader switches on every bus send.
Harrison is offering upgrade programs to existing Mixbus users. Users of older versions will be notified of their upgrade path via email or may contact Harrison’s support for more details.
