Focusrite has announced the Vocaster range of recording interfaces for podcasting.
‘Vocaster is the essential tool for any podcaster to get the studio sound your show deserves when capturing voice,’ the company says. ‘They can deliver a podcast to their audience with audio that has superb clarity, consistent volume levels, and without unwanted noises – keeping listeners focused on the content. Key features such as Auto Gain, Enhance, the Easy Start tool, provide users with all the things they need to get recording.’
Small, light, and powered by a computer, the Vocaster feature set includes Auto Gain, Mute, Enhance, and an Easy Start function. Auto Gain sets audio levels with no requirement for boosters for broadcast mics, while the Enhance feature offers a range of presets to help achieve the best of talent voices. Mute is a non-latching audio mute feature to keep a livestream free from coughs and similar disruptions.
Vocaster Two additionally features two VLR mic inputs and two high-quality headphone outputs. The unit’s Bluetooth connectivity also accommodates use of audio from a smartphone.
Vocaster One Studio and Vocaster Two Studio are two set-ups that have everything podcasters need to start recording their podcast in broadcast quality. The studio quality dynamic microphones both have industry standard features such as shockmounts and pop filters, which keep a voice free from any unwanted noise. Users can hear their show as the world will with the company’s HP60v closed-back studio headphones.
The Vocaster One is priced at £189.99/US$199.99; the Vocaster One Studio at £289.99/US$299.99; the Vocaster Two at £289.99/US$299.99; and the Vocaster Two Studio at £469.99/US$499.99.
