German manufacturer DirectOut has released the Andiamo range of Madi converters, which is now being shipped in the UK by broadcast audio distributor, Aspen Media. Offering a high-quality and affordable block of 32 channel mic preamps, the unit has been designed by renowned classical recording engineer Stephan Flock.

Andiamo.MC combines 32 channels of A-grade mic preamp and AD conversion with 32 line returns in a 2U-high, 19-inch enclosure. It can be operated from the front panel or remotely, using PC software and LEDs on the front panel give a quick check of signal condition of all the input and output channels. Using the Madi routing matrix under PC control, patching any input, analogue or Madi, to any output or a single input to multiple outputs is quick and simple.

For I/O, Andiamo.MC is available with dual SC fibre or one SC fibre and one BNC connections. The standard SC fibre is multimode but an optional single mode modification is available if required. The two Madi ports can be configured as a redundant pair for seamless changeover in the event of the loss of one incoming connection. Dual redundant power supplies also offer additional security.
