HEDD Audio has released a dedicated software platform bringing system control and transparent calibration to its Mk2 studio monitors and Bass subwoofers.
With the Mk2 series, HEDD combined meticulous acoustic engineering with advanced digital signal processing to deliver sonic truth – a monitoring foundation that engineers can trust across projects and environments. The new HEDD Ctrl software takes this concept further, transforming the Mk2 range into a fully integrated monitoring system.
From EQ, bass extension, shelving and desktop filters to CoP (Closed or Ported) modes and the HEDD Lineariser, every adjustment can be made in real time – with full visibility and without relying on automated processing. Profiles can be saved and recalled for different sessions, formats, or listening positions, ensuring consistent results across all set-ups.
Ctrl scales from a two-channel set-up to immersive environments of up to 250 speakers, giving engineers precise control over every element of a monitoring chain. Each loudspeaker or group can be calibrated with a 10-band parametric EQ and per-speaker delay control to maintain accurate time alignment. System-wide phase linearisation between satellites and subwoofers ensures coherent behaviour across 2.1, surround, and immersive configurations.
HEDD Ctrl also allows seamless switching between linear-phase mode for mixing and low-latency mode for tracking, maintaining consistent precision across workflows.
CoP (Closed/Ported) technology allows each loudspeaker to offer two distinct acoustic characters. And because Ctrl is software-based, it can evolve over time – ensuring compatibility with new formats and workflows through future updates.
Key features:
- Remote management of Mk2 monitors and Bass subwoofers via Ethernet/Wi-Fi.
- System scalability up to 250 loudspeakers.
- Flexible group creation for stereo, Sub-Sat (2.1), or immersive set-ups.
- 10-band parametric EQ per speaker and per group.
- Per-speaker delay and offset control.
- Subwoofer/satellite grouping for crossover optimisation.
- Preset storage and recall for workflows and listening positions.
- Device management: identification, mute, solo, rename, firmware updates.
- Lineariser (zero-phase alignment).
- CoP (Closed/Ported) modes.
- Bass extension and subwoofer controls.
- Latency modes (linear phase/low-latency).
- Shelving filters and desktop EQ.
- Input and gain settings.
- Standby management.
HEDD Ctrl is available from November 2025 as a free download for all Mk2 and Bass owners.
