Lavoce Italiana has expanded its common HF/LF magnet coaxial range with the introduction of new neodymium and ferrite 8-inch and 15-inch models, including both cone-as-horn and dedicated ABS horn configurations as part of its flagship CAN and CAF Series.

All models are based on Lavoce’s common motor coaxial architecture, combining HF and LF sections into a single, FEM-optimised motor structure to deliver compact form factors, controlled directivity, and low distortion, while simplifying system integration for OEM manufacturers and sound system designers.

The CAN082.00K and CAF082.00K models are compact 8-inch coaxial transducers designed for high-performance point-source systems where size, weight, and wide coverage are critical. Both models use the LF cone as the HF waveguide, providing a 100° nominal coverage, and feature a common HF/LF magnet motor structure optimized through FEM analysis.

CAF082.00KThe CAN082.00K employs a neodymium motor with 97dB sensitivity, while the CAF082.00K uses a ferrite motor and at 96dB sensitivity, offering designers flexibility in balancing weight, performance and cost. Both models share the same electro-acoustic platform, featuring a 2-inch LF copper voice coil, 1.7-inch edge-wound copper-clad aluminium HF voice coil, and 500W programme power handling.

The HF section uses a polyimide diaphragm combined with a dedicated phase plug and an aluminium demodulating ring, ensuring low distortion and stable HF performance over an extended 70Hz–20kHz frequency range.

For applications requiring higher output and controlled directivity, the CAF153.00TH and CAN153.00TH are15-inch coaxial transducers featuring a proprietary ABS HF horn designed to deliver 60° × 40° nominal coverage. Both models are built on a high-power common motor platform with a 3-inch LF copper voice coil, and a 3-inch edge-wound copper-clad aluminium HF voice coil, delivering 800W programme power handling and a wide 45Hz–18kHz frequency range. The HF section employs a titanium diaphragm with polyimide surround combined with a patented IIS phase plug and an aluminium demodulating ring, ensuring high output capability with low distortion and excellent in-field consistency.

The CAF153.00TH features a ferrite common motor and provides 98dB sensitivity, while the CAN153.00TH uses a neodymium motor, increasing sensitivity to 99dB while maintaining a compact and lightweight design. This allows system designers to select a preferred option based on performance targets, weight constraints and system cost objectives.

‘These new common motor coaxials reflect the maturity of our design platform and our ability to scale the same core technologies across different sizes, motor types, and directivity options,’ says International Sales Director, Kevin Shove. ‘They offer OEM partners and system designers a versatile toolbox to create compact, high-performance point-source systems with predictable and repeatable results.’
