Tascam has announced the return of two classic audio integration boxes in the LA-40MkIII and LA-80MkII line level converters. These units are designed to bridge the gap between professional and consumer audio equipment.

Tascam LA-40MkIII/LA-80MkIIUpdated for the modern professional audio environment, the LA-40MkIII and LA-80MkII provide reliable signal conversion and flexible routing options for recording studios, broadcast facilities, streaming environments, and commercial A/V installations.

The LA-40MkIII boasts four channels of bi-directional balanced-to-unbalanced and vice versa line level conversion. Levels ranging from between balanced professional +4dBu/-20dBu and consumer -10dBV unbalanced signal support integration into any environment. In addition to signal conversion, the LA-40MkIII can act as a distribution amplifier allowing a single source to be fed to multiple outputs, which is optimal for multi-zone audio routing or multi-recorder feeds.

Expanding on the LA-40MkIII’s channel count is the LA-80MkII. With eight channels of signal conversion and audio distribution functionality, the LA-80MkII is suited to larger installations and environments requiring reliable integration between multiple audio devices. Both models feature front panel signal indicator lights, channel-by-channel trim controls for precision levelling; all positioned to make both units fit into a variety of professional and consumer setups. The addition of ground lift switches helps to minimise noise from ground loops while the 1U rackmount design guarantees a small footprint in studios and A/V situations.

‘Being able to rely on top-notch signal conversion is must-have in the pro audio realm, even in the modern era,’ says Tascam Product Specialist, Sean Daily. ‘The LA-40MkIII and LA-80MkII continue a longstanding TASCAM tradition of solving real world audio workflow problems with reliable and quality hardware devices. Users from the worlds of broadcast, studio, installation, and all other audio realms can count on these units to bolster their workflows.’
