Klotz ais has announced its LP164XY1S Mobile 16-Channel Speaker Multicore Cable with Socapex-Compatible RMP419AR connectors for use with systems such as 3D and immersive audio, d&b Soundscape, L-Acoustics’ L-ISA and Adamson’s S-Series, and beam steering technologies including d&b Array Processing.
The pre-assembled LP164XY1S 16-channel loudspeaker multicore cable has been specifically designed for multi-amplifier systems and is fully compatible with all loudspeaker multicore cables with Socapex connectors. Thanks to its elaborate construction, this cable ranks among the high-end solutions in professional loudspeaker cabling. It ensures reliable signal transmission in the highest possible quality even over long distances and can replace up to two eight-channel loudspeaker cables, reducing set-up and teardown times.
With the LSC1640YS, Klotz believes it offers probably the highest quality and most robust 16-channel multicore cable available for tough live operation. This multicore serves as the foundation for the new LP164XY1S series, comprising 16 conductors with bare copper strands (Class 6, VDE 0295), each with a conductor cross-section of 4.0mm², and a highly durable, cold-resistant PVC outer jacket. The PVC jacket is stabilised with an additional Vectran textile braid, ensuring tensile strength even under extreme conditions down to -40°C.
The robust RMP419AR multipin connectors of the LP164XY1S feature silver-plated contacts in male/female versions and are designed to withstand even the highest stresses in rough live environments. For clear identification as an audio multicore cable, this RMP connector has a special audio insert that clearly indicates the pin assignment and application of the cable at a glance. For extension purposes, the male side of the RMP419AR is equipped with a screwable locking ring.
The LP164XY1S is also designed for mobile use: a powerful plastic strain relief ensures high tensile strength during stage operation at all times. Both ends of each cable are equipped with transparent heat shrink tubing for free labelling.
