The world’s first dual-shielded patch cable with ultra-compact with maintenance-free connectors ‘for studio-grade signal transmission’ is the latest addition to the Klotz series of cables, intended for wiring space-constrained pedalboards.
The newly developed, ultra-compact boutique connector was designed in-house by specifically to be space-saving and highly robust, and completely maintenance-free due to its impact-resistan,t zinc die-cast quarter-inch jack plug. Designed and engineered in Germany, it is meticulously hand-assembled at the company’s facility facility in Vilchband.
A specially developed extrusion machine is used in the connector’s production. After completing all solder connections, the machine injects a custom polymer into the plug housing using a low-pressure extrusion process. This revolutionary technique enables an ultra-flat connector design. This permanently seals the plug against water and dust, and provides extremely effective strain relief, withstanding over 310 newtons in lab testing. This protected boutique connector with gold-plated tip is one of a kind – exclusively manufactured by Klotz.
The cable itself is also an innovation in the patch cable sector. Developed from the ground up for flexibility, shielding, durability and signal integrity, it features a dual shielding design – a conductive plastic layer combined with a tightly wound copper spiral shield that ensures optimal interference protection. Despite this complex structure, the PatchMaster cable remains extremely flexible and easy to route thanks to its shape.
The inner conductor is made of 99.9 per cent oxygen-free copper (OFC), and the cable boasts an ultra-low capacitance of just 0.8 pF per 100mm (0.33 ff) as a direct result of its advanced manufacturing process.
