Focusrite has announced the Clarett+ range of USB audio interfaces for PC and Mac, building on the earlier Clarett ranges with improved converters and quality mic preamps./ The line comprises the Clarett+ 2Pre10-input/4-output interface, 4Pre18-input/8-output interface, and 8Pre18-input/20-output interface.
Clarett+ interfaces feature professional quality mic preamps, with high headroom, low distortion and ultra-low noise. Their All-analogue Air paramerter, with impedance switching and relay control, brings clarity and presence by emulating the ISA 110 mic preamp from the classic Focusrite Studio Console.
They also feature improved, high-dynamic range AD and DA conversion with ultra-low distortion, improved headphone outputs and DA converter performance and come with a collection of software, including mixing plug-ins and virtual instruments.
The Clarett+ 2Pre offers two Clarett+ mic preamps featuring All-analogue Air with impedance switching and relay control, two JFET instrument inputs and independent AD and DA converters for a greatly improved DA dynamic range and lower AD converter distortion.
The Clarett+ 4Pre is designed for studio recording and mixing, offering four Clarett+ preamps with all-analogue Air, improved AD and DA converters, two powerful, transparent analogue headphone outputs, and two dedicated, ultra-high-impedance JFET instrument inputs.
The Clarett+ 8Pre features eight professional-quality Clarett+ preamps with All-analogue Air, improved AD and DA converters, and two two powerful, transparent analogue headphone outputs.
All Clarett+ interfaces are expandable using ADAT optical input and outputs. All run on driver software for PC and Mac for cross-platform compatibility.
