Sensaphonics has updated firmware for its the dB Check Pro sound level analyser – the only device currently available that provides IEM and headphone users with calculated at-ear real-time and average sound pressure (dBA SPL) level estimates.

Sensaphonics dB Check Pro v1.14The dB Check Pro provides a simple and unobtrusive way to help maintain hearing health in potentially damaging audio environments. New v1.14 firmware adds support for earphone models from Alclair and FiR Audio, as well as adding new models from Westone, adding to the brands already supported – including 64 Audio, Audio-Technica, Beyerdynamic, Etymotic Research, Fischer Amps, JH Audio, Sennheiser, Sensaphonics, Shure, Sony and Ultimate Ears.

Additional models continue to be added based on end-user requests and feedback, while a recently implemented online update methodology streamlines the process of adding new updates to the 170-plus IEM and headphone models from 15 major brands currently supported.

‘Our continued success with the dB Check Pro has led to some excellent industry feedback and continued inquiries from musicians and engineers wanting to know how loud they are listening with their current set-ups,’ says Sensaphonics founder and President, Dr Michael Santucci. ‘The new, streamlined process that we have implemented for easy, online firmware updates helps ensure that end-users have near-instant access to the latest models and features to help protect their hearing – which remains our ultimate goal.’
