Altinex touchpanelModular A/V solution company Altinex has released the CP452-009 In-Wall MultiTouch Panel, extending its line of touchscreen controllers.

Designed around the Intel Atom processor and featuring an embedded solid state hard-disk drive, the controller offers tactile, on-screen slider movement for control of volume, lighting, and similar incremental adjustments. Featuring a vivid 8.9-inch colour screen, the panel’s mounting frame is inserted and secured to a wall by means of the frame’s steel ‘dog ear’ fasteners.

The panel has two LAN ports to allow connectivity to a local area network or a direct connection to another TCP/IP device, and a COM port will control virtually any serial device using standard RS232 communication. Adding further flexibility, the CP452-009 has four USB ports.

‘The Intel Atom processor and hard drive make the entire system extremely fast and responsive, making it an outstanding choice for sliding bar GUI applications,’ says Phil Hale, Altinex Vice President of Sales and Marketing. ‘Installation is fast and intuitive, and the optional aircraft-grade aluminium bezels create a sharp look that fits right in with today’s state-of-the-art A/V systems. I’m confident both integrators and end users will find much to like.”

The panel ships with a power supply and a 6-foot cable. The flat black, silver, and white bezels are optionally available, as is a 50-foot plenum-rated power extender cable.
