Apex Audio has added two higher-powered models to its CloudPower four-channel installation amplifier range, together with a firmware upgrade for the series.
The four-channel 1,5kW CP1504 and 3kW CP3004 amplifiers extend the potential applications for CloudPower to encompass sports stadia, live venues, theatres andhouses of worship. They can be monitored and controlled remotely over the Apex Cloud, allowing integrators to make adjustments without the need for a site visit and creating opportunities for value-added remote monitoring services
Version 1.2 firmware for CloudPower brings additions to the IntelliCloud remote WebUI, including a mixer facility offering ten inputs for each amplifier channel, plus a built-in signal generator to assist with system set-up and troubleshooting.
With the release of v1.2 firmware, CloudPower amplifiers can be controlled over a network using the UDP protocol, allowing greater integration with third-party control systems such as AMX and Crestron. The new firmware further extends the depth of control accessible from the amplifier’s ‘one knob’ front panel UI, including hands-on access to parametric EQ, crossover, limiter, signal generator and mixer functions, permitting fast configuration and easy operation. Version 1.2 also introduces new and enhanced tools for managing loudspeaker presets.
‘We had requests for higher powered models from the outset, but we took the tough decision to hold back the availability of CP1504 and CP3004 while we made further investment in our supply chain and manufacturing capability,’ says Apex MD, Paul Van Hees. ‘We’re now ready with all four CloudPower models, a firmware release that’s packed with valuable user-requested features, and plenty of exciting future CloudPower developments just over the horizon.’
