Markus Portworsnick and Jürgen Bachthaler have joined TC Group International (TCGI), responsible for representing Tannoy, Lab.gruppen and Lake in the Installed Sound and Touring Sound markets within Germany.
Markus Portworsnick joins as DE Market National Sales Manager for Install Products, while Jürgen Bachthaler has been appointed DE Market National Sales Manager for Touring Products.
Markus Portworsnick comes to TCGI from Dekom Mietcenter in Hamburg, where he was Department Manager for corporate A/V systems and events rentals. He has also been a managing partner at Medientechnik Engelhardt in Hannover. He has a Bachelor Professional degree in Trade & Commerce (ICC).
‘This position gives me the opportunity to work with some of the most highly regarded and respected products from some of the leading brands in pro audio,’ he says. ‘Tannoy is a name that is world famous, and to have Lab.gruppen and Lake as part of the portfolio is an exciting prospect.’
‘Markus is the person to push us forward in this important market,’ replies Doug Green, VP for International Sales, Install. ‘His organisational abilities and drive make him a perfect fit for this challenging position, and I have no doubt that he will succeed in upholding the high level of customer service and performance that our DE market partners have come to expect from us.’
Jürgen Bachthaler has spent the best part of 15 years in the audio industry, on both MI and pro audio, which gives him exceptional knowledge of the touring market. After graduating from the School of Audio Engineering in Munich in the early 1990s, he worked as a freelance audio engineer at the same time as working in the music retail market. He then became Sales Manager, Germany for HK Audio Concert Sound. He joins Tannoy, Lab.gruppen and Lake after spending five years as Sales Manager, Germany for EAW.
‘My new position allows us to provide direct access for the brands to the German Touring market – for the first time, which will improve communication and grow business with our current and new customers,’ he says.
‘Having Jürgen on board will make a significant difference to our customers, and for the brands themselves,’ adds Miguel Hadelich, VP for International Sales, Touring. ‘This direct approach will mean we can offer a more comprehensive service to the German market..
