Embassy Studios A1

Embassy Studios has opened its doors in Midtown Manhattan’s Engineering Building on West 39th Street, a new faility offering a multi-room studio environment designed around hybrid production workflows, a networked audio infrastructure and immersive mixing capabilities.

Built with contemporary music production, postproduction and content creation in mind, the facility departs from traditional single-room studio models by enabling simultaneous, interconnected workflows across multiple studios and production spaces. The facility supports tracking, mixing, mastering, Dolby Atmos production, and remote collaboration, integrated through a central Dante network.

‘Embassy Studios was designed as a modern recording hub, delivering uncompromising sound quality for music, voiceover, film and television, while providing a fully integrated infrastructure that supports both creative execution and operational workflows,’ says CEO, Vanessa Sanchez.

Acoustic accuracy, monitoring consistency and long-session usability were all design priorities, combining traditional isolation principles with open architectural design. The rooms feature 20ft ceilings, natural light and tuned acoustic environments, offering an alternative to conventional enclosed studio builds while maintaining professional isolation and performance standards.

Embassy StudiosThe facility was designed in collaboration with CS Scott (construction), MAOarch (architecture) and interior designer Lisa Babar, to respect the structural character of the historic building while implementing advanced acoustic treatment and isolation techniques required for critical listening environments.

Studio A1 features dual Solid State Logic consoles: an 32-channel Origin analogue console and an SSL AWS 948 with Delta-Control integration, alongside Avid HDX systems, Apogee Symphony I/O, and extensive outboard from Manley, Neve, API, Universal Audio and Empirical Labs. Midfield monitoring across rooms is from Augspurger monitoring systems, with close-fields from ATC, Focal and PMC.

Studio A2 offers next-generation audio capture and mixing capabilities centred on an SSL AWS 948 console. With its Duo 15-inch Augspurger monitors and 18-inch subwoofers, Studio A2 is intended for detailed mixing and tracking. A generously sized live room and vocal booth are equipped to accommodate everything from full drum kits to choirs and acoustic ensembles, all supported by high-end preamps and outboard gear that balance analogue character and modern flexibility.

Studio B1 houses an SSL Matrix2 Delta console paired with premium outboard compressors, EQs, and monitoring to support precision mixing and sound design for tracking, detailed postproduction and hybrid music production workflows. Augspurger Solo 12 monitors with Sub 18 integration ensure accurate low-end response, making B1 a go-to space for nuanced creative work.

Studio B2 is centeed on a SSL Matrix2 Delta console and Augspurger monitors, along with a pair of Focal Solo6. Studio B2 features a dedicated iso booth for vocal or other instrument overdubs, or for edits and other production work. In addition to its SSL and Augspurger foundation, the studio also features Neve compressors, SSL EQ and a suite of plug-ins from Waves and McDSP among others.

The Multimedia Room reflects Embassy’s commitment to supporting content beyond music. With high ceilings and panoramic views of the Empire State Building, this versatile space accommodates press interviews, podcast recordings, live streaming, and creative video sessions. Equipped with Bird Dog PTZ cameras, NewTek Tricaster Mini, professional mics and streaming-ready workflows, it’s ideal for multimedia production and promotional content capture.

Embassy’s Dolby Atmos room supports advanced immersive audio workflows through a highly accurate 7.1.4 configuration using PMC monitors. This environment enables producers, mixers, and artists to work in spatial audio formats that are increasingly central to contemporary releases, film and interactive media.

In addition to primary recording rooms, Embassy offers dedicated production suites and a podcast room for creative production, writing sessions, voiceovers and content capture. These spaces also provide integrated Dante connectivity, flexible routing and integrated video capture tools designed to streamline collaboration and documentation.
