Dangerous Music has launched its official plug-in, Dangerous Music Digital, a ‘meticulously crafted’ software version of the Convert-AD+ converter. Developed in partnership with Studio DMI and Acustica Audio, the plug-in brings one of Dangerous Music’s most iconic analogue designs into the digital domain.
Until now, the Dangerous Music sonic DNA has lived almost exclusively in physical hardware. The Convert-AD+ Plug-in marks an inflection point – a Dangerous flagship has been modelled, sanctioned and released in software form under Dangerous Music Digital.

The plug-in was designed with creative input from Grammy Award-winning producer and mixer Luca Pretolesi, who has relied on the hardware version of the Convert-AD+ for years at Studio DMI.
‘Having used the Convert-AD+ hardware on countless records, expanding it into a plug-in made sense,’ Pretolesi says. ‘Its unique clipping behavior – what Dangerous calls Gain Fracturing – is part of what makes the converter special. Bringing that into the DAW gives producers and mixers the same punch, attitude, and control we depend on, now with more flexibility.’
