Reckoned to be one of Heritage Audio’s best sellers, the Spanish company has now announce the availability of the HA-81A EQ preamp and equaliser plug-in in native form.
‘Taking our sought after 73 style preamp, with all its fame and glory, and combining it with a juicy, inductor-based equaliser you have all you need to capture authentic console results and sculpt them to whatever the track or mix calls for.
‘Where your typical three-band 73-style equaliser exceeds at musicality but may be short of features, the HA-81A EQ excels at both. Designed to bring timeless analogue character to your modern workflow, this plug-in delivers rich harmonic depth, musical EQ curves, and the unmistakable punch that defined countless classic records,’ the company states.
The EQ section of the HA-81A EQ is based on the hardware console equaliser, a musical four-band, inductor-based design that is regarded as a standard for vintage EQ in many recording studios. It is a four-band, inductor-based circuit, with high-pass and low-pass filters, each with five frequency positions. It offers extreme – five frequency-position – control over shelf or bell response curves on the high and lows, and dual Q on both mid bands with dedicated high and low mid ones, each with ten frequency positions – a choice of 40 frequency selections overall.
The HA-81A EQ plug-in is available at US$99/€99.
