Playfair Audio has announced Body, a one-knob dynamics plug-in built on the same DSP engine that powers the company’s Dynamic Grading dynamics processing plug-in tool, offering a straightforward way to hear Dynamic Grading’s approach without the learning curve of the full product.
‘We wanted a simple way for people to try the core of Dynamic Grading,’ says Playfair Audio founder, Christian Luther. ‘Body gives immediate, useful results – if people want more control or deeper metering, they can download the Dynamic Grading demo.’
Body uses Playfair’s Spectrum and timing engine together with the Source Learn feature from Dynamic Grading, but with parameters fixed to musical settings for fast results. Body reacts around the centre of a signal’s dynamics rather than simply pushing from above or below.
