Playfair Audio has revised its Dynamic Grading dynamics processing plug-in tool to v2.0.4, a maintenance update that delivers a range of user-requested improvements and fixes designed to enhance workflow stability and precision.
Dynamic Grading 2 offers a more precise and unique way to shape audio dynamics than traditional compressors, making advanced processing like noise cleanup, transient shaping and adding depth easier to achieve for various audio tasks, from music to postproduction. An intuitive GUI and dynamic histograms allow users to independently compress or expand the punch, body and floor of an audio signal. There is also support for multichannel audio formats up to 9.1.6, a magic eye spectral display, and a number of factory presets that can be adjusted and stored as desired.
Dynamic Grading v2.0.4 adds full support for importing patches from version 1.3, ensuring users can easily transfer settings and continue working seamlessly across versions. The update also introduces parameter text entry for ratio and gain sliders, as well as threshold markers, giving users greater precision when fine-tuning dynamics.
Further refinements include improved range checking behaviour for automation and controller mappings, and more accurate host-reported values for the Time Window parameter when using the ‘Set Time Window in Seconds’ option. Visual consistency has also been improved, resolving incorrect display issues for gain values and the smart latency button.
Key updates:
- Support for importing patches from Dynamic Grading 1.3 via Copy/Paste.
- Parameter text entry for ratio and gain sliders, and threshold markers.
- Improved range checking behaviour for automation and controller assignments.
- Correct host display of Time Window parameter values under Set Time Window in Seconds.
- Fixed incorrect display of certain gain parameter values.
- Fixed display issue affecting the smart latency button.
