Heritage Audio has released the Lang Electronics 500 Series 312L preamp, resurrecting the character of 1970s vintage New York-style preamps in a single-slot design with built-in lifter.
The Lang 312L boasts +15dB to +90dB gain range – more than almost any other currently available preamp, to the extent that users will confidently be able to use every microphone in their collection without the need for any external boost.
Lang 312L’s Ribbon & SM7 lifter boosts that gain by +25dB to accommodate gain-hungry mics, especially useful to those ribbon and vintage dynamic mic owners who struggle to get the most out of them. The distinctive-looking Lang 312L also features a front panel-positioned XLR/TS combo jack with TS hi-Z instrument DI, plus XLR mic inputs for convenience, together with switchable +48V phantom power, -20dB pad and phase switching.
The transformer-balanced inputs and outputs – courtesy of an exclusive 2622 Lang Electronics Inc input transformer designed by Heritage Audio working in harmony with a US custom-made CineMag output transformer – combined with Heritage Audio’s custom HA-880 footprint-compatible op-amp ensure a professional, solid and thick signal. Thanks to its ultra-low – EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) -130 dBu – noise floor and super-fast transients, Lang 312L users may hear dynamics they never knew existed.
Additionally, Heritage Audio’s OST-8 – a 3U-high rackmount, eight-slot 500-Series enclosure with a premium 192kHz, 24-bit ADC offers the most direct pathway for sending signals to a DAW using an Adat Lightpipe cable.
Lang Electronics Incs Lang 312L is shipping and available via parent company Heritage Audio’s network of dealers with an MSRP €399.00 (including VAT) in the EU and a MAP of US$349. US availability is via RAD Distribution.
