Mics/Preamps

Lewitt reckons to be ‘taking the classic dynamic stage microphone and pushing it further’ with the release of the MTP 5 Live Vocal Microphone.

Lewitt MTP 5MTP 5 is intended for professional use on stage as well as for broadcast, podcasting and instrument recording. The design employs a tailored dynamic capsule that claims ‘outstanding’ clarity and high-end response, and provides ‘outstanding’ isolation from stage noise to avoid muddy or harsh mixes. The the off-axis frequency response specifically rejects high-frequency content from other loud stage instruments like drums.

To ensure MTP 5 will withstand mic drops and rough touring wear, the mesh, grille and body are made from rugged full-metal materials. The metal ring serves as a natural barrier for artists who tend to cup the mic and together with the optimized position of the capsule, you get a cupping-safe design. To minimize handling noise, the capsule is rubber-suspended, and the integrated windscreen is washable to keep the microphone hygienic for whoever is using it.

The MTP 5 Live Vocal Microphone is available as a switch version, which expands its range of applications and suits it to use as a talkback microphone for emceeing events and panel discussions.

The Lewitt MTP 5 Live Vocal Microphone is available for €109/US$109/£89 and €119/US$119/£99 (with switch), and comes with a microphone clip, transport bag and windscreen.
