Austrian Audio has introduced its first large-diaphragm condenser bass drum microphone, the OC-B6, claiming ‘what was long considered impossible – integrating a large-diaphragm capsule into a compact, stage-ready design capable of handling extremely high SPL while delivering the pure, unprocessed sound of the instrument'.
The OC-B6 is engineered to capture the sound of a bass drum, with microphone placement inside or outside the drum, and any desired signal processing. Despite housing a large-diaphragm capsule, the OC-B6 remains compact and highly practical. Its construction is expected to ensure durability and reliability in demanding live environments.
Based on Austrian Audio’s original swivel joint design (introduced with OD5 and OC7) the OC-B6 offers 220° rotation for flexibility and accuracy in miking up any bass drum, and can handle virtually unlimited maximum SPL. The ‘B’ version of the CKR6 capsule doubles the distance between diaphragm and electrode and features a lower-tuned resonance frequency.

DMK1 is the only drum microphone kit on the market to feature seven condenser microphones (three with large-diaphragm condensers and one dynamic mic) housed in a compact, rugged, waterproof case for reliable transport and storage. Everything needed is included – microphones, mic clips, drum holders, and even windscreens for open-air performances.
