Zoom has advanced its H4n handheld audio recorder with the release of the H4n Pro, featuring advanced microphones, high-performance mic preamps and an extremely low noise floor,
Offering high-quality four-track audio recording for music, film, podcasting and location recording, the H4n Pro’s built-in condenser microphones can now handle up to 140dB SPL for X/Y recording in particularly high-level environments. The unit’s two XLR/TRS inputs use the same high-performance, low-noise mic preamplifiers as the Zoom H5 and H6 Handy Recorders, and its improved noise floor (now -120dBu EIN) allows for audio capture with lower noise and fewer artifacts.
Newly added locking combo connectors keep mic connection cables secure, and a headphone/line output jack allows a high-quality stereo audio feed to be sent directly to a camera. A built-in monophonic reference speaker provides quick audio reference on location. The new rubberised, ergonomic body is designed for use in the field.
The H4n Pro also features three recording modes, built-in 'studio-grade' effects processing and the ability to function as a two-input/two-output USB audio interface.
The Zoom H4n Pro Handy Recorder is shipping now at US$219.99.
