DIS has introduced a complete camera control package for use with its DCS6000 Digital Conference System. The package consists of a camera controller, a wireless router and an iPad.

The camera controller comes preloaded with an algorithm for mowing up to four cameras supported by the Visca protocol – as with the earlier CP7801 model. The iPad feature, however, is not only preloaded with a camera control application that allows users to preset up to 400 seats per camera, but makes it possible to assign a delegate name to each seat. Video feedback allows camera positions to be set while walking around a meeting area, using the wireless iPad.

When in operation, the camera controller controls the camera(s) as well as an optional video switcher. When a microphone is active, the controller moves the first available camera to the appropriate seat. It is possible to set a delay before the camera switches to an active seat, to avoid pictures of camera movement. It is also possible to specify a number of live microphones that will cause the camera controller to switch to an overview.
