Jiangxi's newly opened Wunvzhou Resort

Located in the Chinese province of Jiangxi, the newly opened Wunvzhou Resort offers bothy a tourist destination and a cultural centre, and includes a range of hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions, all themed on the cultural achievements of China’s Hui Muslim ethnoreligious group.

Before the resort’s official opening in July, Chinese A/V solutions provider EZPro was assigned the task of supplying and installing the audio system for the resort’s regular large-scale live performances of Encounter with Wuyuan – performed on a floating stage – in a 3,000-seat outdoor arena.

Dean St opens UK’s first Dolby Atmos mix/mastering room

Two years after transforming its main Studio 1 control room into Dolby Atmos recording and mixing room, London’s Dean St Studios is turning its second studio into the UK’s first dedicated mastering facility incorporating Dolby Atmos mixing.

PMC monitoring features in both rooms, with the new suite equipped with a 9.1.4 surround system comprising PMC’s MB3-XBD-A monitors for left and right main channels, MB3S-A for the centre channel and Ci Series Ci65 monitors for surround and height channels.

Mansion Sound Studio A

Located in Branson, Missouri, Mansion Sound is a multimillion-dollar custom designed studio complex created specifically for audio production in music, film, television and postproduction. Both of its studios feature Solid State Logic mixing systems and all-Genelec 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos immersive monitoring.

Studio A has the most powerful Genelec Dolby Atmos system in the United States to date, and the largest and most powerful Solid State Logic Duality Fuse 96-channel SuperAnalogue mixing console yet built – the first of its kind to be installed anywhere in the world.

Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour

Sennheiser has been an integral part of Ed Sheeran’s touring inventory since the start of his career, with long-time production company, Major Tom, providing the flagship Digital 9000 system for him in recent years.

Now, with The Mathematics Tour taking in some of the largest venues in the world – London’s Wembley Stadium, the Stade De France in Paris, the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, New Zealand’s Eden Park and Sydney’s Accor Stadium among them – and with a show that has expanded significantly from his one man and a guitar days, a switch has been made to Sennheiser’s Digital 6000  system.

Running concurrently in the UK, Singin’ in the Rain and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat contrast in musical genre and storylines but share ‘virtually identical sound design’. Each uses LR proscenium hangs of d&b Y-Series line arrays with point source centre clusters, E6 delays and front fill, and V-Subs.

‘The Y-Series has all the hallmarks of a great d&b product,’ Owen says. ‘It’s a powerful system delivering great audio quality in a compact box. It’s the power-to-size ratio that makes this such a versatile product. We proved this when, for Back to the Future [currently running at the Adelphi Theatre in London] we incorporated a couple of Y point sources into the iconic DeLorean. I didn’t think they’d deliver the necessary output for the sound effects, but they did. It’s incredible.’
