Outline returns to Decibel Open Air EDM festival

The Visarno Arena in Florence’s Parco delle Cascine hosted Decibel Open Air, following its success in 2018. The event was organised by Decibel Eventi and has become a fixture among large international music events.
This year, more than 30 performers from the international EDM scene performed on the two stages, with Armin Van Buuren headlining. To ensure the thousands of fans a unique sonic experience, Scandicci-based Tuscan rental company Emporio On Stage equipped both stages with Outline GTO PA systems. The hurdles to be overcome to achieve the results requested included ensuring the highest possible SPL for the audience, while reducing sound spill into surrounding areas.
The return of Mad Oak

Having closed his original Mad Oak Studio in 2011 when the building owner decided to monetise the property, long-time studio owner PK Pandey quickly identified a new location but then faced zoning and construction ordnances that kept the project on hold until 2015. But, when mayor Marty Walsh took officee, Mad Oak was back on track with WSDG handling design and construction – the firm’s first commercial studio in Boston.
‘We hadn’t been biding our time during this waiting game,’ Pandey explains. ‘I’ve enjoy a long-term relationship with WSDG and collaborated with them on Miami’s Dream Asylum, Church Studios in London and Jungle City Studios in NYC, as well as other projects via my AVN SYS, A/V design/integration firm. WSDG was the only design firm I considered.’
Vampre’s Bride

Currently touring North America in support of their fourth studio album, Father of the Bride, Vampire Weekend are credited by Rolling Stone as having created a ‘modern California pop masterpiece’. Although much has changed in the six years since the release of Modern Vampires of the City, the group still favours L-Acoustics for its touring PA.
‘L-Acoustics is one of the very best systems out there, and I love the scalability of K1, K2, and Kara all sounding consistently great and working together seamlessly,’ says the band’s FOH engineer for more than a decade, Neil Heal. ‘We’re using K2 mains and Kara out fills, and I also love the fact that the arrays go down so low without ever being muddy. We could almost do shows without the subs, but they’re certainly nice for moving the air.’
Adlib on song for Glasgow Summer Sessions

Adlib supplied full production to DF Concerts for the 2019 Glasgow Summer Sessions – three concerts over two consecutive weekends in Bellahouston Park – attracting more than 100,000 people to see headliners The Cure, Foo Fighters and The 1975.
The project was coordinated from Glasgow’s Scottish Office by Chris Neary and Craig Hamilton, who created a production visual and audio design that also facilitated each of the headliner’s own productions. Adlib provided The Cure’s four-truss ‘house’ rig, with both Foo Fighters and The 1975 installing their own video and lighting specials packages ‘underneath’ the house system.
