German telephone hybrid and audio codec specialist AVT Audio Video Technologies has joined the Ravenna community, bringing further expertise to widening landscape of Ravenna/AES67-enabled products.

AVT telephone hybrids and talk show systems increasingly involve Voice-over-IP technology, while audio codecs are needed for high-quality audio transmissions over different networks, with the transmission using AoIP rather than ISDN or 2-Mbit/s that were used in the past.

‘As a manufacturer of high-quality IP-based audio systems, the move to implement Ravenna into our new products represents another milestone towards open standards,’ says AVT Sales Director, Wolfgang Peters. ‘In addition, we want our customers to decide freely which solution they prefer in the market.
