Brazilian punk/hardcore band Raimundos, recently recorded its first acoustic DVD – a live recording made using Allen & Heath’s dLive digital mixing system.
Formed in Brasilia in 1987, Raimundos draw much of their inspiration from the Ramones – making an acoustic release something of a departure from their previous live recordings. For it, Digão, Marquim, Canisso and Caio chose to record a live acoustic set with additional instrumentation to their guitars, bass and dums, including a pianist and string section to be released as a DVD.
The dLive system supplied by WR Sonorização comprised a S7000 with DM64 MixRack, and selected as the monitor system, managing a total of 16 stereo mixes. ‘dLive is the most intuitive digital console I have ever used, and has superior sound quality to any competitive products I have mixed on,’ says monitor engineer, Edinho Rock.
‘Put simply, it is both fantastic and powerful. It is easy to navigate and all the key mixing functions are readily available as the Control Surface is clear and intuitive,’ adds WR Sonorização owner, Sonorização Pantcho.
